Join us at the Freshwater Fair on 30th March

Tuesday Jazz/tap and our eisteddfod group will be performing at the Freshwater Fair on the 30th March from 11.15. It would be great if some our creative movement people could come and join for some fun dancing on the day! It looks like it is going to be lots of fun!

Building fundraiser $$$ needed

I hope you are all enjoying the new airconditioning. I know I certainly am - it feels very special!! I have had a quote to have the floor sanded and resurfaced for $3,000!!! I am determined that this will happen sooner rather than later but I need your help. I am hoping to hold a fundraiser on Saturday the 31st May. We can wash cars, have a sausage sizzle, cake stall, face painting and talent competition. If you can donate something, prizes for the winners of the talent quest, cakes or your time in helping to make this a reality, please let me know.

Uniform Update

I wanted to give you an update on the uniform situation. For those of you that don't know, our supplier told me that they won't be continuing with that side of their business so I have been forced to find a new supplier. This will mean some minor changes to our uniform style. If you have placed an order and don't want to buy our alternate uniform or you don't want to wait for them to be made (they will probably still take about 1 month from now) please let me know so that I can refund you the monies you have paid.

Eisteddfod auditions this Saturday 15th March

Eisteddfod group audition this Saturday!
We are looking for interested participants to join our Eisteddfod Group and you are invited to audition! The Eisteddfod Group represents our school at selected Eisteddfods around Sydney. We are looking for students aged 11 - 14 years who are committed to becoming better dancers and want to have lots of fun with their dance friends outside of normal dance hours! Please come along and enjoy a free class with Justine this Saturday 8.00 - 9.00am at our Brookvale Studio. This is a good chance to practice your audition skills. Phone Lisa on 9949 1486 or email at DJAZZEX@bigpond.com if you want more information about what is involved with being part of the Eisteddfod group.

Great Dance websites from Lisa P.

I think www.ausdancensw.com.au is a great site because it is so informative about what is happening with dance in Sydney. I also love www.dancetrain.com.au because of the way it keeps us informed of up and coming auditions. When I first returned to Sydney after working as a dancer overseas I was amazed that the only way you could find out about auditions was if you had an agent. Also check out www.adv.org.au which is the website for the ballet dance syllabus that we teach at DJAZZEX. Lastly www.danceinforma.com is pretty cool too. Oh and don't forget about www.dancersworld.com because of the all the great dance related stuff you can buy.
Am loving the new space. I hope everyone else is too. It will just keep getting better and better now as we continue to improve it for our students. It will make a lovely home for us. Lisa P

At our new premises

We are in the middle of the first week of classes at our new premises in Brookvale - 11c/106 Old Pittwater Road - hopefully everyone is finding the location without too much trouble and so far the parking has also been excellent. For those who haven't been as yet djazzex is in the middle building in the complex, a red brick building labelled number 11 above the Innoxa factory outlet.
